Knoxville Scrapbooking Club and other stuff

Well, so much with keeping up with my blog on a regular basis. I have been so busy - mainly doing scrappy stuff. Trying to keep active on several message boards that I really enjoy plus making several layouts for design team contests. i have joined a new site - Memories from the Attic

which has a call for several people to add to their design team. I know lots of people (online scrappy friends) on this new site already, so I think my chances are slim, but I am still entering. I am also going to enter at one of my VERY FAVORITE scrappy spots, Scrapbook Doodle. They also have spots open for their design team. However, the competition for this is posted, and I would probably fall over dead if I made it there. Talk about talent! Nevertheless - going to enter. BTW, here is a layout I did for Scrapbook Doodle for their December Guest Creative Team.

And here is a fast and easy but cute little Christmas card I did for Card Studio.

I also posted in on a site filled with the most friendly people - ScrapnCircle!

Ok all you Knoxville Scrapbook Club members - I have to have a defnite yes or no for our crop tomorrow night. Email me or (I still have the meetup group site - MUST get rid of it! Costs MONEY!) you can still leave me a message through the meetup site. I previously mentioned some things we might work on, but I started wondering if anyone would like to do Christmas cards? Just need to know ASAP!

I keep promising myself that I will get back here and fix up this site. but now my BABY - my Bichon Poo- Cotton is sick after going to the groomer's yesterday. He came home acting like he had been drugged (which is a no-no), but now he is also acting like he feels bad. He even whimpers if you pick him up! So, I am gonna go give him some TLC and decide if he should go to the vet. I also worry about what is going on in the BACK at the groomers! Well, you have to see Cotton! Isn't he a cutie? Bye for now!

Pre-Thanksgiving Thoughts

Well, here it is the day before Thanksgiving, and the only thing I have even done is bought the turkey so it can thaw. Forgot to buy the woodchips for the smoker, which are often hard to find! In fact, haven't tested the smoker to make sure it is still working alright after setting out since Easter! So I'm crossing my fingers that all that works out, cause I LOVE smoked turkey. Smoked anything for that matter - everything tastes better on the smoker!

Of course my fibromyalgia is flaring up! Could it be the stress of all this job stuff - some of you know what I mean - or should I say the probable illegalities of what "they" are doing? Will explain later when i am unstressed enough to get up on my moral soapbox about how unkind and totally unprofessional some people can be. So much for my beliefs about the innate goodness of most people! Nope - still believe that in spite of some evidence to the contrary. Back to Thanksgiving and my fibroflare. This means that I have to keep the menu simple and sit as much as possible. So I will go to the store and then cook as much as I can ahead of time. Meaning : mashed potatoes, homemade mac & cheese (everybody except Kent demands this!), green beans, corn, oh yes - dressing (this is too much trouble - may have to cheat!), cranberry sauce (definitely canned), VA deviled eggs (meaning very sour), some sort of salad, rolls, and homemade banana pudding (2 batches). Fortunately my friend Scott is going to help me today while playing background music from all his new CD's!

Now to change the subject, here is a layout I did for Janice's fall color challenge at Scrapbook Doodle. It is of Matt and Casondra . Had to use fall colors plus one other, circles, bling and handwritten journaling. I am going to post this one, but really am going to post a gallery of all of my work. In the meantime, here is Magic Moments:

Sorry for the poor photomerge job, but look at this beautiful young lady and handsome guy (no, I am not biased cause he is my son! lol

Before I close, the Knoxville Scrapbooking Club is having the crop on Fri. Nov. 30th. Please vote so I can change it if I need to. Have to make it final in a few days!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Knoxville Scrapbooking Club (formerly Knoxville Scrapbooking Meetup Group)

I hope that by now all the members of the Knoxville Scrapbooking Meetup Group have found this blog. As I said, I am now going to drop the meetup site for FINANCIAL REASONS. No reason to pay for it if I don't have to! Anyway, I think I have put the new date for our next crop as Friday, November 30 at 7:00. If I haven't, then that is what I would like to go for if everyone agrees. Well, we know that everyone NEVER agrees, but I am going to do the best I can. So PLEASE respond to my poll if you are a member of the meetup group or would like to join or just atted a crop. No one has to join - as there are no fees to join. I am charging $5.00 for the next crop as I will provide the materials for whatever project we work on. Remember, our group is for beginners to advanced scrappers. We have a blast. I LOVE teaching new techniques and am open to suggestions about what you would like to learn or work on. The format usually goes that I teach a technique, everyone that wants works on that, or if you have something else you would rather work on, that is fine. We have SCRAPBOOKERS and CARD MAKERS! I provide materials for one layout or 2 cards. I also let you bring your own papers or I'll let you use some of mine, and you can use my Cricut or Sizzix to die cut whatever you like. I have some cute dies, or you can make titles or whatever. I have so much scrapbooking stuff, it is ridiculous!

Have to run a couple of errands. Will post again later tonite, I hope. Want you to see the cards I sent in for the Card Studio Design Team call. Sure I didn't make it, but it was fun to try!

Please post or email me at mitzy5000777@yahoo.com with any questions or comments about our next crop. Oh yes, I guess i should at that i hold them at my home in West Knox, for those of you who haven't been on the meetup site & know that all ready. Hope you all have a great day! And by the way -

GO VOLS! WE BEAT VANDY!

Finally Have a REAL Blog!

Wooohooo! I actually have a blog now - beside the myspace blog! Yes! I plan to leave a link from myspace to this however, because as I have said, I am trying to use anything that will come up in a search engine for our Knoxville Scrapbooking Club. The first thing I will try posting is the latest layout I did for the contest at the Scrapping the Music Blog. Currently they are having a contest using the song "Photograph" by Nickelback. Here is my take on that song, especially using the words "What's that on Joey's head?" I just changed it to Matt's head!
