Memories from the Attic March Card KIt

Well, the MFTA March Card Kit was a little late getting out this month, but it is out now and at a bargain price! Here's a peek at it for you! I haven't had time to play with it much yet, but did manage to get one card done. Thought I'd show you that, also. Don't you just love the cute little birdie stamp and the "so tweet" stamp? They are both from the kit. I love the spring colors in this kit too, plus there is embossing powder and an embossing pen. I use embossing powder all the time, but the embossing pen is something I haven't used much. Can't wait to work with it!

Btw, Sam and I are adding digital stamps to our ETSY store. I can't believe I haven't thought of this before - he is such a fantastic artist! We have several collage sheets in the works and plans for MANY more. Have a look at our store, Dreamer's Boutique, but please check back often because there will be new additions!

Card Patterns Sketch 7

I have really gotten into these Card Patterns sketches. Here is Sketch 7 and my take on the sketch. I used my new Penney Black Stamp - isn't it cute? I embossed it with clear embossing powder and colored it with Copics and Le Plumes (I don't have many Copics at all!). It is highlighted with stickles like in their little pink ears, flower centers, and highlights here and there. The sentiment is stamped on a Grungeboard oval that I directly inked with pink chalk ink. The flowers are CTMH. I bought the pearl ribbon at AC Moore and have used it a lot. I just think it is really pretty.
Remember, if you are doing my Memories from the Attic March DT Challenge, I will go ahead and let you know that I am borrowing the Card Patterns sketch again as my challenge for the this last week. Don't forget - this is also my part of the Blog Hop challenge! There is more information will more info
about it on that forum, and if you have looked, you know there is a pretty nice RAK for this month!

Thanks for looking at my card, and I always appreciate comments!

You can get the details there of what you need to do. Also, if you like Copics, which I am starting to love, she has some great Copic tutorials on her blog! Card Patterns Challenge - Sketch 6

Card Patterns Sketch Challenge # 6 is up. Here is the sketch, which I really like - I am partial to circles! For my take on the challenge, I used Me and My Big Ideas as the background paper. Then I used a pinkish vellum with a little design in it for the trianglular shape. I have forgotten how much I love vellum. I always have the age old problem of how to keep the adhesive from showing when I use it, but I am happy to say that I used Scotch Vellum Tape for the first time, and it worked like a dream! So you will be seeing more vellum in my creations in the future! I love the soft look it gives.

I made the flower by using Sizzix dies on cs, covering them with foil tape (the kind you find in the hardware store), and then stamping them with various colors of alcohol ink. I love this technique and use it a lot. The top flower is a Prima. I also used a Krylon Gold Leaf marker on various edges throughout the card.
Thanks for looking, and please leave comments. I really enjoy them.
Oh yes, the ladies who are doing my Memories from the Attic March DT Challenge, pay attention to this post. I am borrowing this sketch from Card Patterns as my 3rd weekly DT March challenge for the Blog Hop! Remember, anyone can join in our Blog Hop or my my specific challenges for this month. You do need to join our site, but then you can jump right in. Some great RAKs!

Cupcake Craft's Spring Card Challenge

Cupcake Craft's current blog challenge, due tomorrow night (3/15), is about Spring! So here is my card, done with some older CTMH pp and pink cs. The cute little chipboard birdie is from Glitz designs, and the flower stamps are from Autumn Leaves. Not sure about the ribbon and the ittsy-bitsy flowers. Unknown source! lol Btw, they are looking for a new DT at Cupcake, so have a look there and get a card and your info in to them by the 20th (I think). I will double check.

Also, anyone following my March DT Challenge at the Attic needs to know that this is my card challenge for week 2! Do a card that is somehow about Spring! No stamping necessary. Go to my DT March Challenge forum and all the info will be there!

Memories from the Attic Blog Hop Challenge!

See that cute froggie over to the right? It's our way of reminding you that his month MFTA is having BLOGHOP! It starts today and runs through the end of the month. Here is a chance for you to have lots of fun AND win RAKs and blogcandy! To participate in our hop, you need to begin at the MFTA Blog for complete instructions. All of the DT's blog addys are there also, so you can easily click on those to hop from blog to blog and get your challenges! Again, all of the information is posted at the main blog.

All of us have a challenge posted today, but you should check back often to all of our blogs, because most of us are posting extra challenges throughout the month.

So here is MY first challenge. It is to make 3 ATC cards that have to do with March in some way. You can do March winds, ST. Patrick's Day's Day, the beginning of spring, whatever you like. One stipulation - each of your cards must have green on them. It does not have to be the main color, but it at least must be noticeable.

Remember, this challenge must be posted in the MFTA GALLERY by midnight (CST) March 31st and linked back here to be eligible for the final prize drawing. Plus, I am giving some BLOGCANDY by a random drawing of everyone who enters my challenge. (Your ATCs still need to be linked from the MFTA Gallery to be eligible for my blogcandy!)

Since I don't have a Mr. Linky (isn't that what it's called? lol), then you will have to link your creations in the comments for this post. I may work on adding the Mr. Linky device.

One more thing! I am an ATC swapper. We always have monthly swaps at the Attic. So if any of you would like to swap your ATCs after March 31, when they are all in, please let me know. I will be happy to host the swap. Just put a note in your comment that you want to swap, and I will pm you my addy at the Attic or email it to you, whatever you prefer. Hope lots of you will swap!

Remember, it is not required for this challenge, however.

Please let me know if you have any questions! Have fun blog hopping!!

Basic Grey Challenge 24

Well, I have made a card for another Basic Grey Challenge. This is Challenge 24, and the challenge for this week was to make a card with some type of pocket (and of course something Basic Grey). I made a card using some of the Bittersweet pp that I had left from the last card kit from the Attic, and some pp from the Blush collection. I made a narrow pocket at the bottom, leaving enough room to put in my flower "stems". The flower "bouquet" in the pocket are made with chipboard flowers from Fancy Pants. I inked the stems and leaves with pigment inks, and inked the blossoms with Perfect Pearls in various colors. I put faux pearls on one blossom, Frosted Lace Stickles on another, and added K I Memories 3D flowers to the other two. I adhered some Wright's lace ribbon across the top of the pocket. The sentiment is from Close To My Heart. If you want to participate in the Basic Grey Challenges, the link is on my sidebar to the right. A new challenge is posted every Saturday

I Got A Blog Award!

I am so excited and happy! I got my first blog award! This is so extra cool because I only lately have been keeping up with my blog like I should. The person I got the award from is Dorothy at Never Enough Rubber Stamps. She has the most wonderful blog. She is still giving away blog candy (and I'm talking super blog candy!!). If you scroll down you will see the pics of her goodies and how you can win them. She is so generous - she definitely deserved her blog award! I have a link to her site in my sidebar if this one doesn't work. I am having link problems today. Isn't my award TOO CUTE?! Well, here are the rules for the blog award:

The rules are...1. The winner may put the logo on their blog.
2. Put a link to the person who sent you the award.
3. Nominate 10 blogs.
4. Put links to their blogs.
5. Leave a message for your nominees.

I will be back with my 10 nominees. I have been sick and late checking in at The Attic. Need to do that, plus I need to fix my links for some of my nominees. I just wanted to get this posted so Dorothy would know how much I appreciate it! Thank you again, Dorothy!
I'm back with part of my nominees. I am having trouble gettin in touch with the others. So I will go ahead and post these and hope the links work! Girls, you should have a comment from me on your blogs. So now copy this award and put it on your blog.
Btw, the blogs I have chosen are all made by ladies who have inspired me with their artistic creations: some I have worked with on the DT at the Attic, some design for other sites, some have been online friends for years, and one (Ingrid) has a blog that I just found recently and I'm so glad I did! Hope these links work and also hope I can get in touch with my other nominees!
